JOEY IMAGE (63) / (REAL NAME JOSEPH POOLE) AMERICAN PUNK ROCK DRUMMER. REMEMBERED AS A MEMBER OF ONE OF THE FIRST LINE-UPS OF THE PIONEERING GIANT BAND THE MISFITS, WHO PLAYED HORROR PUNK AND HARDCORE PUNK. IMAGE BECAME THE MISFITS MEMBER IN 1978 AND IN 1979 RECORDED THEIR THIRD AND FOURTH SINGLES: "HORROR BUSINESS" AND "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" RESPECTIVELY PLUS APPEARS ON THE 1980 BEWARE EP. ALL OF THEM RELEASED BY GLENN DANZIG'S LABEL PLAN 9 RECORDS. IN DECEMBER 1979 THE MISFITS FLEW TO ENGLAND TO TOUR WITH THE DAMNED BUT DUE TO DAVE VANIAN'S IRRESPONSIBILITY, THE TOUR WAS A FAILURE. IMAGE LEFT THE BAND AND RETURNED TO THE US. LATER HE PLAYED WITH MANY GROUPS INCLUDING WHORELORDS, HUMAN BUFFET, PSYCHO DAISIES, THE MARY TYLER WHORES, THE STRAP-ONS, THE BELL RINGERS, EVIL DOERS, THE HOOPLES, JERSEY TRASH, THE HOLLYWOOD 77's. 2000-2002 PLAYED FOR THE UNDEAD, A HORROR PUNK BAND AND THE PIONEERS OF THE NEW YORK HARDCORE. ON OCTOBER 26, 2000 JOEY IMAGE REJOINED THE MISFITS FOR ONE GIG IN FORT LAUDERDALE. LATE IN LIFE HE STARTED THE JOEY IMAGE TRIO.
